Website(s) : http://www.saxantiqua.com
SAX ANTIQUA group is the only saxophone ensemble dedicated exclusively to ancient repertory. In this case we’d like to present our last recording “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons”.
Sax Antiqua will perform as part of World Sax Day (www.worldsaxday.com)
Biography
Sax Antiqua has been founded in 2003 with the aim of creating a group of saxophones having an exclusive dedication to the repertory of baroque music. The ensemble performs either chamber music and concerts with soloists, being open in the latter case to work with instruments other than saxophone.
From the date of its creation since the present time, the ensemble transcribed a big number of works contributing to the development of saxophone’s literature.
The group has performed in many places inside and outside Spain, participating in various festivals like the IX Festival de Música Antigua de Gijón, the V Miedzynarodowy Festiwal Saksofonowy de Szcezecinie (Poland) and the XIV World Saxophone Congress of Ljubljana.
