Biography
The Nyky Trio was founded in 2009. The main interest of the three components is contemporary music. That interest is evident in the name Nyky, short for finnish word “Nykyajan” that means contemporary. The strong interest in contemporary music has led them to form this unusual group for which a restricted number of pieces was availables. Therefore the Nyky trio commissioned a personal repertoire with new compositions. The ensemble tries to compare different compositional styles alternating classic new compositions, transcriptions, and performances as a duo, trio, or just solo pieces. They took concerts for performed for many important institutions and festivals both in Italy and abroad. A Cd that includes all new works is going to be published soon for the Italian Label RAIcom.
