More informations

The Octavia Saxophone Quartet is one of the most important group in Spain. They are known to play the classical Repertory for Saxophone Quartet and for doing adaptations of the Highest works of Chamber Music (for example, they played in ST. Andrews Congress The First Movement of Edison Denisov’ Quintet and last Movement of Brahms Quintet). They decided to record in a CD the repertoire which included the Original Works for Saxophone Quartet that they had played. They include the works of Pierné, Swerts, Gotkovsky, Escaich and Camarero.

The concert wants to show what is the identity of the Group, playing two of the works from the CD (one of these are a new version of the piece, expressly created for the Congress) and one piece that is the top of Romantic Repertoire for Chamber Music and we love , which is an adaptation of The fist Mouvement of The Death and The Maiden form Franz Schubert.
