Biography
After more than 1000 concerts around the world, the now 19-year-old Budapest Saxophone Quartet is still going strong with the initial line-up of four friends who established the quartet in the Liszt Academy Budapest and then graduated together as a chamber group in CNSMDP Paris, France. The BSQ performed in more than 22 countries like USA, Canada, Japan, South-Korea, Mauritius, Qatar, Israel, Russia and all over Europe as well. One of their specialities is to invite guest soloists, mainly singers but also piano, trumpet, saxophone, harpsichord, organ, oboe and flute players.
The BSQ released already 11 albums, 3 of which are purely Baroque featuring various singers. They won 6 prestigious competition prizes in Hungary, Germany and Italy and have been awarded the Artisjus prize in 2009.
